November 24, 2013 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 43 Comments

Hello, hello! Happy Sunday to ya 😀

I hope you guys are enjoying a wonderful weekend so far, and I hope you’d be willing to help me petition for an extra day between Saturday and Sunday — we could call it Sunterday.

This weekend has been non-stop go, go, go around these parts, and it doesn’t really look like things are planning on slowing down just because today is Sunday (read: a day meant for r&r). The cold front that we’ve been dealing with over the past couple of weeks seems to have taken its claws out of us, so I’ve been taking advantage of the warmer weather and spending a good chunk of my time here:

On The Slopes

Oh, and if you’re wondering where I am, I’m the little black speck near the bottom left part of the hill… or so I’m told 😆 And what better way to follow a day on the slopes than by curling up on the couch to watch a good movie? How about braving insane crowds and cramming yourself into a packed theatre to watch a good movie? Okay, so it didn’t have quite as pleasant of an effect, but its was definitely worth it to watch Catching Fire — I liked it so much more than Hunger Games.

But that’s enough rambling from me. I’m due for another busy day, and I’ve got some great links to share with you guys. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Well you are at least one step ahead of me by actually HAVING a facebook page. It took me forever to get an Instagram. Let’s see how long it is this time 8O.

Catching Fire > Hunger Games. No contest. I could just tell from the previews… and when I heard that there was going to be a new director I said to everyone within ear shot “yes! Catching Fire is going to be SO MUCH BETTER.” 😀 And it was. Still not my favorite movies, but they were okay as far as film adaptions go.

I saw Catching Fire on Friday night in IMAX. It was AMAZING. I agree with you. It’s so much better than the first movie. I think they did a really good job at bringing the book to life and setting up for the next movie.

I’m also so jealous that you’ve been snowboarding. I’m hoping to get to Whistler over the next few months. I’m in Toronto so my options are very limited.

Planning on seeing Catching Fire TODAY (or tonight) and I’m so excited. Basically the only thing I did yesterday was take a plane, train, and automobile to get home. Now I am lying in bed, awake at 5:45 (my body thinks it’s almost 7 and time to go to work), and reading blogs. Doesn’t get much better than that! Happy Monday, girl!

This past week, I read all three books for the first time and watched the first movie, then saw Catching Fire. I liked Catching Fire much more than The Hunger Games, but neither lived up to the books. They never do, huh? I was moaning over the sexy man candy in the movie though. Everyone in the theatre loved me.

Thanks for sharing my post, and for sharing all of the other amazing links! I can’t wait to procrastinate by reading all of them.

Catching Fire was so so so good. I felt like I was in a bit of a haze the rest of the day, though. I get a little overly emotionally involved in movies (and I totally screamed very loudly during the monkey scene…). It was WAYYY better than the first movie.

I think the 10 ways you are sabotaging your workouts is a huge deal and great article. Unless you are training for a marathon or ultra marathon, there is no reason to spend hours on hours at the gym. Why? Eating enough is going to ruin your workouts with lack of energy as well as not building muscle in critical places.

I like the changing your mood article too. Often times we get into a big rut and we feel worse and worse. If you can change your mood in the first couple of minutes-you’ll feel so much better about yourself!
