. WIAW … hungry blogger on the loose .

August 24, 2011 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 102 Comments

100 posts, a giveaway, WIAW, and one hungry blogger…

Yessss, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate today, so let’s get the party started!

. – . – . – .

A little while ago, Tori came up with the clever idea of taking pictures of the devastation left behind after a hungry blogger demolishes their meal. Just a fair warning in advance – it ain’t pretty. Some of what you see may shock you. The following scenes are not for the weak of heart…

It was a day like any other. The only difference was that there was a hungry blogger on the loose, preying on innocent meals. The first victim of the day was  breakfast…

Eggy bananafied steel cut oats topped with pudding and almond butter.

Poor guy – didn’t stand a chance. And his was only the first name on today’s lengthy list of casualties. Soon after, an attack was reported on a pre-workout snack, in broad daylight!

Cookie dough ball – Chocolate muffin.

All that was found at the scene of the crime were some discarded clothes. What kind of monster are we dealing with here? Horrifying. The next attack occurred around lunch time…

Banana tofu protein pudding

Salad beast – Greek yogurt mess with multiple cereals and trail mix.

Absolutely shocking. Grotesque. These pictures shook me to my very core, but at the same time, I couldn’t turn my eyes away. I wouldn’t have long to lament the loss, however, because it wasn’t long before the attacker struck again. This time on a very handsome afternoon snack…

Vanilla ice cream (in a bowl for a change) with a crushed cone and chocolate sprinkles.

Up until this point, the killer made quick work of her victims, but you can tell that she took her time with this one by the “lick marks” left on the bowl. Authorities are starting to believe that the attacker is enjoying herself. And she wasn’t done. Oh no. Around dinner time, she struck again…

Pumpkin hummus tortilla pizza

As of this moment, the killer is still on the loose and considered highly likely to strike again before the day is done. If you are a tasty meal or delicious snack, we encourage you to stay inside your home with your windows and doors locked until further notice.

. – . – . – .

Are you a bowl/plate licker or scrapper? Yes! Both! I always do my best to get every. last. speck of delicious goodness into my belly.

Do you always finish everything on your plate? I do. I think it’s something I picked up when I was recovering from my ED, and now it’s a habit that I find hard to break. I usually have no problem finishing my meals, but there are times where I get full either 1/2 or 3/4 of the way through, but finish anyways.

I def scrape the bowl, especially when I’m cooking muffins, or something.

OK, and that Banana tofu protein mix of yours looks so good! I did a second take of it – first I thought it was a shake…then I thought…hold the fort! That’s pudding! Yum.

I am definately a bowl/plate licker! Haha! Unless it’s something a little drier or crumby, when licking is not needed 😉 And I almost always finish everything on my plate, but there are times when I just don’t want to eat the rest. But barely ever, I hate wasting! 🙂

Hahaha I absolutely loved this post — such a creative spin on it!! 😉

Yes, I am usually a “finisher” … it’s a combination of knowing how much I’ll want / need and only making that much, and growing up with a “finish everything on your plate!!” mom. Which works fine when I’m the one doing the cooking, not so fine when I’m eating out.

Dang girl! Your eats look so flippin’ good! 🙂 I am definitely a member of the clean plate club. I totally agree with picking it up during my time with disordered eating. I knew that I could have that exact amount and that is what I always did! It is a pretty hard habit to kick.

Can you give suggestions on wraps you use? Different kinds that might be good?
Also…I might have to move into another shared situation where there is no oven…but there is a hot plate and a toaster oven…how do i make pizza via that ?

I use brown rice wraps for my pizzas because I like how crispy they get, but any wrap works. And I use a toaster oven for my pizzas sometimes if it’s too hot to turn on the big one. If the toaster oven is big enough to fit a whole tortilla, just stick it in and turn it up to 350, and if it’s not big enough, slice the tortilla in half and stick both pieces in.

I almost always have a clean plate after a meal, except when I’m out at restaurants. Then I usually bring food home, since our American portions tend to be too big.

Congrats on your 100th post! You’re on a roll!

And the ice cream bowl topped with cone and sprinkles looks delicious. I usually stick to a cone, or use other toppings, but I think I’ll have to try it.

I’m more of a cone person myself, but everyone seemed to be so fond of having it in bowls that I had to see what all of the fuss was about. I’m still undecided…

My boyfriend is a plate-scraper. He swoops his fingers over his plate like a hungry little Zamboni, scooping up any remnant of sauce or crumb. It really grosses me out!

I usually clean my plate, because I am one of those “measurers” so I am eating exactly as much as I’m supposed to!

….oh you’re still here? I’d have thought you’d be in a jail cell by now! 😛 I guess they thought your blog posts were too entertaining to take you away hahaha.

I always clean my plate when I prepare food for myself or serve myself – I know how much I’m hungry for 99% of the time. 1% of the time I’ll start eating and get full faster than I thought…enter tupperware. At restaurants though, a take-out box or a few straggler items may occur!

And I am totally a bowl licker/cleaner/scraper. My dog gets really sad about this sometimes, he thinks I’m taking his job.

    Haha, this is so cute!

I tend to finish all that crosses my path foodwise unless it’s a huge portion or I don’t like it – both rare!

Was always told it’s somewhat uncouth to lick my plate but I still do it sometimes! Not a scraper though, since I can’t stand the noise of cutlery on crockery.

I’ll lick my plate if theres something lickable on it (syrup from my waffles yesterday) and i always feel the need to clean my plate but iim working on stopping when im full, even if theres still food on the plate.
