. thinking out loud #60 .

January 9, 2014 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 126 Comments

Thinking-Out-Loud

1. Remember back when I actually used to post random facts on these random thought days? Yeah, me neither. That being the case, let’s kick things off with some random facts that’ll make you everyone’s first pick for trivia game partner…

RF PMS Face

RF Swallow Tongue

RF Sugar

RF Bible Unicorns

RF Facebook Fear

1. Funny because breakouts and oiliness make me feel a -tad- less beautiful…
2. What I wanna know is… how’d they test this one?
3. That’s a lot of rainbows. Do you have a favourite colour of Skittles? Mine is red…
4. I -had- to Google this one, and apparently it’s true… but not as exciting as you might imagine.
5. That would be awkward… Just like sending a text/message to the wrong person… 😯

2. Remember how I admitted to rockin’ the Christmas socks underneath my boots? I wasn’t kidding…

Christmas Socks

… and I’ll probably be doing it until at least mid-March.

3. Speaking of Christmas, please tell me I’m not the only one who still has all of her decorations up…

Christmas Decor

It’s not even that I don’t want to take them down — I’ve just gotten so used to them that I hardly even notice anymore. They really do have to go, though… My tree is currently sitting in the spot where I take all of my food photos, so that’s been a little inconvenient to work around #foodbloggerproblems. I would say that I’ll take it all down this weekend, but that doesn’t seem likely to happen because…

4. β€¦ the cold spell has finally broken…

Cold Spell Broken

5. β€¦ and I’ll be heading up to the mountains on Saturday morning! Whoop whoop. I’m in desperate need of some time on the slopes after basically becoming a shut-in thanks to this nasty weather, so you’d better believe that I plan on taking full advantage of this blessed respite from the cold by spending as much time with my snowboard as I possibly can. Can.not.wait.

6. Can.not.go without road trip snacks, either… which means that I need to whip up another batch of granola bars in the next couple of days seeing as this is all that’s left of the last one…

Last Granola Bar Crumb

… and now that’s gone too πŸ˜₯ What can I say? They taste like cookies…

7. Edit:  I went ahead and whipped up another batch approximately 5.5 minutes after writing down #6 ^^ …  Now the trick is going to be making them last through the next two days. I can do this… maybe.

Granola Bars Batch 2

8. I’ll just turn my attention to these chocolate and vanilla bunnies instead… You know those foods that completely annihilate all your sense of proper portion control? Yup. Well played, Annie… well played indeed.

Annies Bunnies

9. So hey! We’re about a week into 2014 now, and for those of you who are doing it with me, how are your memory jars coming along? Are you still keeping up with them? Or have you already thrown in the towel? πŸ˜‰ Still time to catch up!

2014 Notes

10. And now for my favourite part… reading your guys’ random thoughts! Seriously one of the highlights of my Thursday…

I don’t think I ever wear solid socks underneath my boots. Fun, designs, funky colors… all necessary! Who wants boring socks?!

I’m not too picky about the socks I wear. I totally wear socks and undies that are seasonal out of season. πŸ™‚

I’m kind of disappointed that the unicorn reference wasn’t cooler.
I have your granola bars on my “to make” list. Unfortunately, my list is a mile long!

Don’t feel bad, I still have all of my decorations up too! My tree is starting to look pretty pathetic, actually. I think we’re going to have to call it quits this weekend and finally take them down…boo.

Those granola bars looked incredible! I would have tore right through them too.

Now if only I could find one in the wild…I need to be on Animal Planet. Instead of “Finding Bigfoot” Im going to be on “Finding Unicorns” bahahaha

No 1 is a load of rubbish I swear. I have read in several places that women are at the most attractive (both facially and physically) when they are ovulating. Which, conversely to menstruating, makes biological sense because you are supposed to be attracting mates in that phase.

It’s Thursday, I haven’t blogged in ages, I have been intending to join in for the last month…lets do this!

I hope the weather lets up soon! If it’s any consolation, it’s flooding quite badly where I live on the other side of the pond!?

I loved that random fact about the unicorns! I just posted that to Facebook πŸ™‚ All of my friends will be thrilled.

We still have our Christmas tree up, but all of our other Christmas decorations are down. Everything that remains is just “winter” stuff like snowmen.

Good job with #9. I love the idea. And maybe I should try to catch up…

I still have my Christmas tree up—I have selective vision and don’t notice it. Plus it’s super cozy and it doesn’t take up that much room… I think I just want to keep it up since I only got it up 2 days before Christmas. Hope you have a great day!

I’m so jealous of your trip to the slopes this weekend. We need to get out too.. but it’s a 2 hour drive for us to get to the closest ski hill and we are STILL sick of driving because we did so much of it over the holidays. Mmmm and I need to make those granola bars. I don’t know how you stop yourself from eating ALL OF THEM!! hehe.

My favorite skittles are the blue ones in the “special packs”, but I’d have to go with red for the normal! πŸ˜‰ We still have our Christmas decorations up because my mom and I love the Christmas decorations and the “cozy” feel of them. We keep teasing my dad and telling him we’re decorating the tree for Valentine’s Day and Easter. lol Hopefully the needles last until then, right?! πŸ˜‰

Have a great time hitting the slopes this weekend in your Christmas socks!!!

Um..that first uber fact? Impossible! My face breaks out one hundred percent of the time and I’m pretty sure I put on a solid 5 pounds. The best time is when that time is nowhere in sight!

Our decorations are still untouched and the tree is still up. I keep thinking I may as well have it lit but I just forget it’s there!

Have an awesome time snowboarding this weekend! I’d love to learn but I’m pretty scared. When did you learn?

All I can say for fact number one is….well shit. And I’m curious about the unicorn thing!
And I’m 8/8 with my memory jar so far!! be proud of me!! Except that I went to the dollar store last weekend to buy a glass jar for it, but when I was out in the parking lot it fell out of the bag and shattered. And I was too annoyed to go back in and get another one so right now all my memories are in with bracelets in a basket on my dresser. I’ll have to try again this weekend, and hopefully won’t break it this time…

Yeahhhh my Christmas stuff is still up. I only put it up a week before Christmas so it is staying until Valentine’s Day haha. I’m laughing, but that is a possibility. Except for the fact that it’s the new year and I’m in the mood of cleaning and purging everything!

I am a huge fan of this link-up! I always wanted to start some kind of Thursday Thoughts link-up since I didn’t see anything like it around the interwebs, but now I don’t have to go through that trouble. Whew! πŸ˜‰ <3

Those little bunnies are the greatest things ever! I love them and you’ve reminded me that now I need to get some! We took our Christmas decorations down last weekend. I really didn’t want to, but this week our kitchen is undergoing a renovation, so we had to get the Christmas decoration out of the way. The house is such a disaster right now! Ugh! I keep telling myself that it’ll be over soon and it’ll be worth it – then I’ll be cleaning like crazy!

I’m still laughing about you saying the cold spell has broken because you are supposed to get to zero!! (of course, now I’m mostly laughing at myself because I forgot you live in Canada and your zero is actually or 32!!)
The FB thing or texting the wrong person is funny. A week or so ago, my husband meant to text me and instead sent a text to a friend of his – the guy was probably wondering why Chris said he loved him!!!

I’m a little sad I’ve already put away the Christmas socks, but the Valentines Day & Mardi Gras ones will make their appearance soon enough.
