. packing procrastinator .

December 11, 2012 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 46 Comments

Excuse me while I pass out for a moment *insert 36 minute nap here*

Wooooowie, today was a doozy of a day. Do people still say that? Doozy? Spellchecker didn’t flag it, so I guess it’s a legit word, but it makes me feel all kinds of old so I’ll go with something like: “today was freakin’ hardcore, man.” Ehhh. Whatever. At least it started out well…

Plain Greek yogurt – banana – Kashi Cinnamon Harvest – homemade applesauce – roasted almond butter.

I love travelling, but I become an absolute head case the day before I leave. It’s not a fear of flying that does me in, but the seemingly neverending amount of little things that suddenlyΒ need to get done. Between packing…

… shopping (I picked up something for you guys ;))…

… and taking care of last minute errands, I end up feeling like a chicken with her head cut off… which is a disturbingly morbid expression, but nevertheless portrays my physical and mental state quite accurately.

That being the case, today’s post is going to be short, sweet, and somewhat scrambled. I should probably start packing haphazardly throwing things in my suitcase at some point, and I still need to finish writing a few posts that’ll be going up while I’m away – there’s a recipe and giveaway involved as well, so keep your eyes open for those.

Aaaaaand now it’s time to say goodbye, both to you guys and a certain someone. I probably won’t be blogging much about my trip until I get back on Monday, but I’ll be posting regularly on Twitter (@RunWithSpoons) and Instagram (@runwithspoons), so follow me there if you want to stay in touch.

See you soon!

. – . – . – .

Do you like to fly? Airports and packing aside, I actually really love it.
Ever been to Vegas? If not, would you like to go?
Are you a packing procrastinator, or a procrastinator in general?Β

I tend to get a little anxious at the airport with security and all, but I absolutely LOVE to fly! And I’m a total procrastinator…on everything! I just realized there are only two weeks left until Christmas and I’ve STILL got shopping to do! Eeep!

I’ve never been to Vegas, but I’d love to see it some day…I hear it’s like a whole other world! πŸ˜€

Enjoy your time in Vegas! Whether your eloping or not πŸ˜‰ – I’m sure it’s going to be a blast.

Flying is great! I’m still getting excited about the whole experience from checking in to that magic moment when the airplane picks up speed on the airfield and then suddenly takes up – aaaah! Unfortunately – or not regarding the environmental impact – I don’t get to fly often at all.

I think I’ve perfected procrastination and I’m not proud. There are so many things I could and should get done but even more enticing ones to procrastinate on :D.

Have a great trip! I love to fly/travel, but I absolutely despise packing. And I always, always, always forget my cell phone charger. Always.

I’ve never been to Vegas but I’m heading out there in February! I can’t wait to read about your trip, it’s gonna make me even more excited!

Have fun in Vegas! I love love love to travel–I’m one of those weirdos who thinks the airports and plane rides are fun–but I don’t get to do it nearly enough. Other than summer road trips around the state, I haven’t actually traveled since spring break 4 years ago, yikes! That needs to change soon.

I am excited for my drive back home tomorrow though, not the drive itself because that can be three hours of stress and too much traffic, but it means that I don’t have to think about school for the next 5 weeks!

Eek, so excited for you- HAVE A BLAST! XO

Yesterday’s day trip to Chicago made for a longgg day but it definitely was nice to waltz right into the airport with a handbag and no luggage! We’re headed down to Texas on Friday so that means I’ll start scrambling myself sometime soon… Probably will put it off until tomorrow night πŸ˜›

Have a great trip! I love packing, I know that’s weird but I love planning and organising. I HATE unpacking after the trip has finished though…heaps of washing. Not fun. I’ve never been to Las Vegas . Not sure if I’d want to go as it seems a bit crazy for me. Maybe a long weekend while going somewhere else as well to mellow it out.

Ah I think the pre-travelling prep is why I love the actual process of travelling…after all that running around, it’s nice to just be able to sit for a few hours and watch mindless movies & read trashy mags! Have the BEST time in Vegas…I went a few years ago for a cousin’s wedding and it was such a blast!

I’m sure looking forward to following your Vegas-induced shenanigans! πŸ˜‰ I’ve driven through the city far more times than I’d like to admit (long family roadtrips–yay!), however I’ve never actually spent a night there. It’s definitely on my bucket list, though!

I love flying, mainly because it provides an excuse to indulge in a trashy magazine or in-flight movie. πŸ˜‰ In all seriousness though, I really enjoy the forced relaxation time. Since I rarely take time to sit down and do “nothing” during the day, those so-called boring hours spent staring at the seat in front of me are actually pretty blissful! πŸ˜€ Happy travels!

Vegas is definitely an experience! It will be the best people watching experience you can imagine but can border on sensory overload. I highly recommend finding a little cafe (at Paris, perhaps!) and settling in to observe the action. πŸ˜‰ And the food options are never ending – Sage at Aria is amazing, and Society Cafe has an awesome brunch, among many many others. Are you seeing any shows?? If you can…see Love. My jaw did not leave the ground the entire time! Have a blast!

I’m usually not a procrastinator in general however whe. It comes to packing I always wait u til the last possible second- I guess I just pack better under pressure!

Oh, wow! It’s like a mystery…except are you going to Las Vegas? Are you going away for work or for fun?

I like to make packing lists and lay things out for trips way in advance, to make sure I don’t forget anything (which is always silly, because I can buy most anything wherever I go). It’s just the worrier – and planner – in me.
