Happy Sunday, friends! πŸ˜€

I hope the weekend has been treating you well! Mine’s been good for the most part. Slow, but that’s exactly what I needed to be able to catch up on some things since I was away last weekend. Does anyone else find that if certain things don’t get done on the weekend, they never manage to get done during the week? Definitely the case for me, especially with blog related things — hence why I was MIA from Spoons for a good chunk of last week.

BUT! Despite not posting, I was still reading… and since I was still reading, I have a bunch of great posts to share with you guys in this week’s edition of link love. See ya tomorrow with a new recipe!

I’m all for travelling solo and can certainly recommend it! Yester: had a family picnic, ran for the first time in a veryvery long time, walked my sister’s labradoodle. Today: worked on a new client’s logo, caught up with blogs and I will be drawing in a coffee shop very soon!

3 Heather @fitncookies August 10, 2014 at 5:52 am

Love these posts :) found so many good ones. The Buzzfeed how to keep food fresh is incredible! Who knew.
Yesterday- went on a 6 mile run, went to a bridal shower, and ordered take out.
Today: chuch, teach class, and going to Kohls for some new clothes! Have a great day!

6 Bridget August 10, 2014 at 6:21 am

Love the morning rituals link. I love the idea of stretching and doing yoga in the morning! I love the idea of giving yourself 3 things to accomplish during the day. Attainable goals are always satisfying!

I think I need a kettle ball!

Yesterday: went for a run by Lake Michigan, bought a new pair of dress pants for work, watched my boyfriend work on his golf swing at the driving range
Today: buy a kettleball (I’m not kidding), go to “market days” street festival (neon trees will be there!!!!), make tilapia and veggies for dinner

7 Kim @ FITsique August 10, 2014 at 6:45 am

Great List this week!!! I pulled a bunch to start reading!

8 Michele @ paleorunningmomma August 10, 2014 at 7:15 am

Awesome group of links as usual, thanks for all the sunday reading!

9 Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious August 10, 2014 at 7:18 am

My weekends are the only time I have to catch up so if I’m gone, nothing gets done. Ugh my crazy life! You should definitely do a solo trip! I started doing it two years ago and it was invigorating. It’s about being confident with yourself enough to do it. I really enjoyed it!

10 Ella August 10, 2014 at 7:37 am

yesterday: cousin’s wedding reception, had a killer goat cheese salad, helped my cousin finally get home after a huge flight-missing fiasco
today: post-wedding brunch, saying goodbye to family, and flying home after a 2 week vacation. It’ll be good to be back!

11 Kim @ Hungry Healthy Girl August 10, 2014 at 7:46 am

Great links- I’ve already checked out a few. I still need to look up the one about Linked In. I have it, but I’ve never used it. Also, the pinch of yum July income report had such helpful hints in this month. Always love reading those. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

12 meredith @ The Cookie ChRUNicles August 10, 2014 at 8:42 am

Why does it always take me a min to remember yesterday? lol Hmm. Yesterday: Long run, beach time, errands on the way home….Three things today – breakfast by the beach, another run and hopefully Red Mango while running around later today

13 Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets August 10, 2014 at 8:48 am

Aright today I am commenting before I read the links, only because I have about fifteen of them open. That should take me at least an hour…or maybe I will skim them, as I’m getting better at that particular task only because I’ve had to. Ahh, change by necessity.

Thanks for sharing my quiche. I really appreciate it. :)

You are not alone. Weekends are my chance to get stuff done. I’m way too tired during the work week to try to accomplish all the things.

14 Kailey (Pint Size Foodie) August 10, 2014 at 8:50 am

I saw the overnight oatmeal recipe as well and it looks amazing!! Can’t wait to buy some more oats to make it!

15 Sam @ Better With Sprinkles August 10, 2014 at 9:03 am

A solo trip is definitely on my 5 year plan…I’ve never been to Europe, so I think that needs to happen before I’m 30!
Yesterday: went to the gym, went to see the Ninja Turtles movie, took myself out to lunch at the farmers market.
Today: studying/practicing my defense, taking the dog to the dog park….and then the first one again.

Happy Sunday love!

16 Amanda @ .running with spoons. August 10, 2014 at 9:12 pm

Would it still count as a solo trip if I ended up tagging along to Europe? πŸ˜‰

17 Laur August 10, 2014 at 9:09 am

Those perfectly timed pictures are AWESOME. I love when I find articles like this one! So cool!

18 Megan (The Lyons' Share) August 10, 2014 at 9:53 am

I love Fitness Blender – always recommend to clients because there are such great workouts for a variety of levels and times. Also – you should definitely make a solo-vacation happen! I did a 2-day one a few months ago and it was amazing … already planning the next one! :)

19 Khushboo August 10, 2014 at 10:49 am

I’m so grateful you posted the link about taking better photos with point-and-shoot cameras! I took the plunge and bought a new one this weekend so it’s been fun testing out different settings :)! Hope you are having a lovely Sunday. Three things I did today include:

1) Lunch with the family
2) Played around with the camera
3) Caught up on reading

Why can’t it be Sunday every day!!

I have to get blog stuff done over the weekend… when I come home from work I don’t have the mental capacity to do anything I want to do haha.

Yesterday: 15 mile run, Ragnar planning meeting, dinner + Pirates game with friends
Today: yoga, brunch with friends, took a farm to table cooking class!

25 Nathan the FFK August 10, 2014 at 6:03 pm

26 Nathalie C. @ Devoted Foodie August 10, 2014 at 6:18 pm

Great post! I especially liked the LinkedIn article and the photography tips. Food photography is still something that I struggle with so I am constantly looking for ways to improve! And, I’m a big fan of coconut oil and use it in cooking, skin and hair care routine. Love it. Thanks for sharing :)

27 Christina @ the athletarian August 10, 2014 at 6:36 pm

Those perfectly timed photos – HOW COOL!
