. laughter is the best medicine .

by Amanda @ .running with spoons. on November 10, 2012

What a goofy day.

You know those days where you just wake up feeling off? And no amount of chocolate/naps/coffee make you feel any better? Yeah. Today has been one of those days. Not a bad day, per say, but a day where I’m basically just waiting for the clock to hit an hour where it would be considered socially acceptable to go to sleep. Speaking of which, is 7 considered too early for a Saturday night? Yeah, I thought so too.

In that case, I’ll resort to the next best thing – humor. You know how they say that laughter is the best medicine? I think they’re definitely on to something. I spent a good chunk of my day browsing Pinterest and figured that I’d share some of my favorites with you in case you needed a little bit of cheering up of your own. Enjoy :)

I feel better already 😀

. – . – . – .

Can you relate to any of those? 😀

bahaha. I LOVE MR. BEAN!!! And all of these. Oh, girl, you’re in my brain. I absolutely NEEDED these right now. I’m exhausted and it’s going to be a very, very long night. I hate waking up in a funk. But spending a Saturday brooding in a (love-sick? ;)) induced funk can be fun too. I really, really, really, really hope you made the most of it!! By wasting as much time as humanly possible, of course!
Added incentive on staying up until at least 7pm — my email will be heading your way at or around that time (Edmonton time, too!!). 😀 Sending love and wishes of flannel pjs, warm blankets, yummy drinks, and giddy feelings inside when you think of your man. 😉 xo

2 Amanda @ .running with spoons. November 11, 2012 at 10:33 am

It may or may not be a love-sick induced funk. I admit to nothing! 😛

3 Aimee November 10, 2012 at 6:01 pm

This totally made my day!! I had literally the worst Saturday – nothing seemed to go right – till I read this – :)
Thanks for making me smile!

4 Hollie November 10, 2012 at 6:15 pm

I’m thee same way. I’m thinking in another hour it will be acceptable to go to bed. These are hilarious and so true about shaving the bear!

5 Amanda Fraijo-Tobin (@FraijoManda) November 10, 2012 at 6:18 pm

Haha! I think the spider one is my fav. That was me the other day. I saw one, then the sucker was gone and I was convinced it was on me somewhere 😉

6 Amanda @ .running with spoons. November 11, 2012 at 10:34 am

Eep! I seriously wouldn’t be able to sleep if that happened to me. I’d be convinced that it would come after me in the night.

7 Brittany November 10, 2012 at 6:19 pm

I am having the EXACT same day!! I keep going online to see if there is something new to do or read. I went for a walk to the store which only took about an hour and a half. Now I am watching TV with my second cup of tea, trying to pass time until I can sleep! I swear I have been on Pinterest off and on all day too..haha. I love these pins. If only there was some kind of universal spot for bloggers to teleport to when they’re bored!!

8 Alex @ therunwithin November 10, 2012 at 6:34 pm

I am having one of those days as well, websites like pinterest and dog shaming let me laugh it off

9 Missy November 10, 2012 at 6:39 pm

OMG hairless legs, face wash commercial. Oh and the having dumb? My motto in life. I often have to explain to clients who call in the morning..”haven’t have my coffee yet” and I can pull it off cause they like me …but to my friends? LOL. When I have my lapses…they just know.

PS- LOL i am doing the health 30 day thing too and I wrote such a similat post not a 1/2 hour ago but your finds made me giggle more than mine! It’s been a day full of medicines.

10 Miss Polkadot November 10, 2012 at 7:06 pm

Aaaah, I SO have to agree with many of them. Hello to writing down things I’ve already done to my to-do-list- really, how else would I make myself look productive on days like today ;)?!

Good to know my friends and I apparently aren’t the only ones giving each other that look in university when our professors tell us to “find a partner”. Hey, we can behave grown-up later still, right ;)?!

11 Amanda @ .running with spoons. November 11, 2012 at 10:37 am

Get out of bed. Check. Eat breakfast. Check. Brush teeth. Check… Eeehehee. It always makes me feel like I do so much 😉

12 Miss Polkadot November 11, 2012 at 2:57 pm

Great idea! I hadn’t thought about adding these kind of things but that’d turn a normal day into productivity to the max ;).

13 Angela November 10, 2012 at 7:12 pm

LOL! totally agree with the mr bean one, reminds me of my elementary school days haha.

14 Angela November 10, 2012 at 7:30 pm

Btw, since you like doing surveys, I would love to read your input for this one! http://eating4balance.wordpress.com/2012/11/09/what-is-normal-anyways-plus-fff/

15 Amanda @ .running with spoons. November 11, 2012 at 10:40 am

Ooo that’s a pretty interesting one. I’ll start working on it soon!

16 Karey @ Nutty About Health November 10, 2012 at 7:34 pm

Thanks for the laugh! I loved the last one about the spider… that it’s not a problem until it disappears & then if you’re me you freak out & refuse to go into that room until it’s found again. LOL Those things really creep me out.
BTW, love your blog name! I can totally relate because my blog originally started as runswithspoon.com, so you & I think along the same wave length. 😉

17 Amanda @ .running with spoons. November 11, 2012 at 10:42 am

Oh girl that’s definitely me too! And if it’s in my bedroom then I’m afraid to go to sleep!

18 debbie November 10, 2012 at 7:47 pm

ugh, I totally had a day like that yesterday. Hope you’re feeling better now!

19 Amanda @ .running with spoons. November 11, 2012 at 10:42 am

A night of good sleep seems to work wonders 😀 Hope you’re feeling better as well!

20 Kate November 10, 2012 at 8:23 pm

HAHAHAHHAHAHA ummm so I relate to all of these….especially the to-do list one….also, I love the one with Mr. Bean. That’s EXACTLY the look! Hope you get some REST tonight and have a better day tomorrow! <3

21 Sam @ Better With Sprinkles November 10, 2012 at 8:33 pm

You know how I feel about my GoT references…it made me smile!
The one about the list – YES! So something I would do, the more crossed off items I see, the more productive I feel. Even if it’s along the lines of “brush my teeth” or “eat breakfast”.

22 sarah November 10, 2012 at 8:57 pm

Cheers for that:D.

23 Ashley @ AlmostVegGirlie November 10, 2012 at 9:39 pm

Those days are definitely rough, and it can be so hard not to want to crawl back in bed for the rest of the day, but humor makes everything better!

To-do lists, on the other hand, I love! Since I’m still a student I always cross off the days left until a break from school and I just get happy when I cross off the days. Even if a break is weeks away, it feels just a little bit closer if I have a countdown!

24 Lisa November 10, 2012 at 9:54 pm

Love these! Especially the spider one. Can for sure relate to that one. And Mr. Bean!!! That got me a little excited!

25 Katy November 10, 2012 at 11:06 pm

Hehe I just stole the one about being comfortable with someone 😛 Love it. You’ve brightened my day 😀

26 Jun November 11, 2012 at 4:58 am

Regular reader here, but first time commenting! Totally get that Mr. Bean one! It instantly drew a smile on my face! Have a nice day!

27 Amanda @ .running with spoons. November 11, 2012 at 10:46 am

Thanks for commenting, Jun! Always brings a smile to my face :)

28 Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin November 11, 2012 at 5:55 am

Ok that shits and giggles one just made me laugh SO hard!

And I definitely add things I’ve already done to my to-do list so I can cross them off… it makes me feel more productive and motivates me to do the rest of the things on my to-do list!

29 Danielle @ Clean Food Creative Fitness November 11, 2012 at 7:20 am

Ahh love these! Thanks for making me smile! I needed that!

30 Kat November 11, 2012 at 8:29 am

Oh pinterest :) It seriously is so addictive. I was looking at the animal section yesterday, and now I pretty much want to own a farm.
I had an off day too love. BUT, today is a new day! Let’s make it awesome :)

31 Laura Agar Wilson (@keephealthstyle) November 11, 2012 at 8:33 am

Oh I hate those flunky days! Love these though, great way to cheer up!

32 Khushboo November 11, 2012 at 9:20 am

Ah hope your Sunday is off to a better start, my friend! I hate those days where I’m in a funk but at least they make me appreciate the better days even more so :)! Thanks for the multiple laughs…those E-cards never fail to bring a smile to my face, especially as I find myself guilty of so many of them! As for the one about the bra and underwear, I think it was made for me! As I walk through my door, off comes the bra and pants in favor of pyjama bottoms!

Have a wonderful day, Amanda!

33 kim@hungryhealthygirl November 11, 2012 at 10:13 am

I love all of those!!!!! Thanks for giving me a good laugh!

34 Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl November 11, 2012 at 10:28 am

Love the pants/bra one and the “to-do” list one…both totally fit me! Thanks for the laugh! :)

35 Kristi @ Sweetly Fit November 11, 2012 at 10:51 am

Oh gosh I love those!!! Thanks for the laugh Amanda. It really is good for the soul. <3

36 Liz (formerly VeggieGirl) November 11, 2012 at 11:39 am

I literally JUST endured the spider problem, but then I found it and now it’s gone, haha 😀

37 Brittany @ Delights and Delectables November 11, 2012 at 1:46 pm

I love pinterest for bad days. I hope you are feeling better today girl. I understand those days… I’m always here if you ever need to chat! Hang in there. This too shall pass…

38 Amanda @ .running with spoons. November 11, 2012 at 2:36 pm

Thanks girl! I’m feeling better today 😀 Nothing a good sleep couldn’t fix.

39 Jessica November 11, 2012 at 2:04 pm

That Mr Bean one just cracked me up.

40 Marykate November 11, 2012 at 5:42 pm

Oh wow, totally having one of those. It’s 7:41 so I’ll settle for an 8:00 bedtime!
Here’s hoping this holiday Monday is a brighter day :-)

41 Matt @ The Athlete's Plate November 11, 2012 at 5:51 pm

I couldn’t imagine life without laughing :)

42 Jessie November 11, 2012 at 9:10 pm

Pinterest always makes things 10 x better!! I hope your day got a little bit better girl. I dislike hearing that your in one of those “moods” :( :(

43 Kristy @ Southern In Law November 12, 2012 at 12:32 am

Oh these are too funny – sometimes all you need is a good laugh! :)

I just nominated you for a sunshine award, so hopefully that starts your week off on the right foot! :)

44 Amanda @ .running with spoons. November 12, 2012 at 6:27 pm

Awwwr! Thanks so much girl! I answered all those questions a while ago, but it totally warmed my heart that you thought to nominate me <3

45 Liz @ iheartvegetables November 12, 2012 at 6:53 am

Hahahaha these are awesome. And I totally write things that I’ve already done on my to-do list. It IS satisfying. at then at least I know something will be crossed off 😉

46 Life's a Bowl November 12, 2012 at 7:28 am

Aw, girly, I had one of those kinda days yesterday too… Nothing bad happened, I was just feeling tired, out of it, and not in the mood. Thanks for sharing some laughs this morning! I loved the giggles + shits, shaving a bear, and Mr. Bean pictures 😛

47 Kailey November 12, 2012 at 10:48 am

Oh man Pinterest is my favorite go to for making the clock go by. If I could I would happily spend my whole day on that site, but that isn’t socially acceptable to some 😉

48 Irina @ Chocolatea Time November 12, 2012 at 3:59 pm

Haha these are great! My Sunday involved me sitting on the bed for literally the entire day just watchingTV and working on my blog. I also had to fast and was starving so I wanted to avoid burning any excess energy :) And oh man the spider saying couldn’t be truer. Not killing any sort of bug before it disappears is the worst, especially if you’re about to go to sleep.

49 Sara @ Nourish and Flourish November 12, 2012 at 5:41 pm

It’s Monday, which means that #2 pretty much summed up my morning! Oh heck, it sums up *every* morning. I include coffee in my gratitude list each day because I can’t imagine where I’d be without it. I figure that of all of the possible addictions, a coffee addiction isn’t so bad. 😉

The rest of these pins provided a great laugh, which is exactly what I needed this afternoon. The last one is a serious anxiety-provoking situation that occurs way too often in my house. Major arachnophobia over here!

I hope you’re having a wonderful Monday, Amanda! <3

50 Gina @ Health, Love, and Chocolate November 12, 2012 at 5:44 pm

Haha amen to all of these! You just made my day better as well. :-)

51 ali November 13, 2012 at 6:19 am

Hahaha you have brightened my day ..very funny pic…… Its true that laughter is the best medicine

52 Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli November 14, 2012 at 12:02 am

Omg, once I got the the “I’m shy at first…” one, I lost it! Shits and giggles! Bahahahaha! Thanks girl, I needed that! 😀

53 annies November 16, 2012 at 1:24 am

Hahahahah. Thanks. That’s so true :)
