. thinking out loud #155 .

November 5, 2015 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 82 Comments

Happy #thinkingoutloud Thursday! No idea what I’m going on about? Click here!

Thinking-Out-Loud

1. My brain is literally farting right now (read: I have writer’s block). Last week there were tonnes of random things that I wanted to talk to you guys about, and this week it’s all crickets and cobwebs up there. But I haven’t missed a ToL in 155 weeks (!!!!!), and I’m not about to ruin my perfect streak now. So hi. Let’s chat.

Curly Hair Selfie

2. Actually, I wouldn’t mind going out for a run first to see if that helps get the creative juices flowing. The only thing is that it’s cold (2ºC/36°F), dark (~5pm), and I have a belly full of pizza. No joke. Dinner tonight was courtesy of Amy and her roasted veggie pizza, which I absolutely demolished. And when I say “demolished,” I mean this is the only piece that managed to survive…

Last Measly Pizza Slice

 3. What can I say? My appetite has been off.the.charts lately, and I’ve actually been trying to snack less and just eat bigger meals to see if that would be more satisfying. It seems to be working, and it’s been nice to not have to worry about eating every couple of hours. I know, I know… probably not something you’d ever expect to hear from a serial snacker. I’ve actually been meaning to do a WIAW on it, which I will get around to one of these days.

4. And yes, I eat dinner around 4:30pm. This delight savings thing has my poor body all sorts of confused, and waking up at 4am means breakfast is at 5, lunch is somewhere around 10, and dinner is at 4:30. Can we please just do away with the whole clock changing thing? I think I’d rather it be darker in the mornings than have it be pitch black by 5 — it make me want to crawl in bed by 9.

Candlelight

5. Actually, it’s about 7:30 right now and I’m seriously ready to call it a day… so I think I’m going to end things here and go curl up with a book. Sorry guys — I know this post was a little on the shorter side, but the past couple of days have been a little rough and I’m not really feeling like my normal peppy self. I hope you’re having an awesome day, and I’ll see your lovely faces soon <3

155 weeks?! Dang, time flies! Even if you had a brain fart, at least your hair looked pretty! 🙂

Amy’s pizza is the best frozen pizza in the world. I eat it almost every week. And the time change has me all out of whack too. It’s pretty much dark outside by the time I leave work and all I want to do it eat dinner and go to bed! Ugh.

I hope you have a great weekend, love! <3

Love your hair in that selfie, girl. Super pretty. Lately since I nanny in the evenings, I will find myself eating dinner at like 4:30, but then usually I need another meal before bed. I love Amy’s pizzas – so good.

I have also been going to bed early! Day light savings is just completely effecting my sleeping pattern.

I know what you mean about writers block! There are days where I am worried that I won’t have enough content to give any one or that the subject is too boring or even over talked about! However, I’m trying not to let that freak me out as I am already a nervous reck since I finally made the move to self hosted and have been working my butt off getting things where they are supposed to be!

Also that pizza looks to die for and I wouldn’t mind a slice…maybe even two!
    XO,

You are probably going to think I am crazy but you are more than welcome to send some of that weather down south. I live in Florida, USA and it is so, so, so, hot right now in November! We actually broke a record yesterday for the hottest day in November since the 80s! Don’t even get me started on how miserable my run was this morning 🙁

I am still trying to get used to this time change too, I think it has had more of impact on my sleep, even though we gained and hour, lol.

Thanks for hosting this link up! #155?! That is awesome 🙂

I don’t think that’s crazy at all! I honestly have no idea how I’d manage the kind of heat you guys get down in Florida… I’d probably melt!

Ugh, I totally have writer’s block this week, too! It stinks.
And I’m with you on the wanting to “retire to my cave” due to the time change. It’s just SO DARK! Ugh.

Writer’s block is *the worst*. So many times I have sat at my computer trying to find the words and it doesn’t happen!

YES to doing away with the daylight savings thing. Dark by 6 pm right now? Lame, especially when you don’t usually get up until 1030-11….

Hope everything’s ok and you’re feeling more like yourself soon!

I hate that it’s dark here by 430! Last night it had been dark for so long that my husband and I just went to bed at 9:30 bc we didn’t know what else to do haha. It felt so late!

LoL! That ends up happening to me too. Nothing to do, so I figure I might as well just try to get some sleep.

Tobias Wolff once said, “We are made to persist. That’s how we find out who we are.” Good for you for powering through consistently with your ToL! It’s not easy, I know. I started up a blog this year, and sometimes it seems almost overwhelming to get a weekly post up. Kudos to you!

I felt like you this week….not enough random thoughts to do a TOLT post. And the dark is killing me returning to my running! 🙁 So sad.

I also eat a really early dinner! Or else I’m starving through class and don’t end up eating until 8:30/9. I don’t know how people can eat late.

Even if the days are definitely shorter, we are still having warm temps here in France – fifties and sixties. I will take it because it won’t last long !

I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling so great this week, lovey. Lake Louise opens this weekend, maybe you should go boarding to cheer yourself up!

You should talk more about running. Weren’t you running a race? Or did that already happen?

I had no idea about Lake Louise. I had my eyes on Marmot, and that opens up next weekend. And I was thinking about entering a race, but I kind of lost my nerve 😕
