. thinking out loud #14 .

January 10, 2013 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 67 Comments

1. I spent a good portion of the afternoon yesterday hanging out in a bar…

Genius Bar

… which I purposefully made sound cooler than it actually was.

2. Because even though sometimes I may try to look like a badass…

Badass Selfie

3. … the reality of it is that I’m really a dork at heart. And I kind of like it.

Dorkside

4. But back to why I was at the [Genius] bar. My beloved MacBook decided to bite the dust… four freakin’ months after I bought it. Thankfully it’s still under warranty, but I’m more than just a little pissed off, especially because I had to go back to using my old laptop and that thing is just beastly in comparison…

Comparing MacBooks

… but at least I still have something to work with. Think happy thoughts. Think happy thoughts.

5. Squee!

Coffee

6. I probably should have stopped by Sephora while I was at the mall. I think it may be time to put my old eyeliner out of its misery…

Ancient Eyeliner

7. … but I ended up stopping by a hobby store instead. See #3 above. Don’t judge me.

Warcraft Monopoly

8. This is the most played song in my iTunes library…

[youtube=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEFa1f_WCms&w=560&h=315″]

9. And this is the food that I probably eat the most far too much of. I go through a tub of this stuff pretty much every day. Should I be concerned?

Greek Yogurt

10. I get some pretty ridiculous junk mail sometimes. This one really made me giggle…

Junk Mail

Happy Thursday!!!

. – . – . – .

How do you like your coffee?
What’s one food that you eat a lot of?
Tell me something random from your day!

Haha, loved the coffee graphic. As a fellow coffee addict, I can relate 🙂 Random funny story from my day: the little girl I babysit for me was telling me that she really wants to be a vegetarian because she thinks it’s mean to kill animals, then tells me: “Plus, I only like chicken nuggets and veal, anyway.” Haha I was cracking up. Happy Thursday!

Ohhh nooo, what the heck Mac Book? If it’s under warranty I hope they are fixing it for free or giving you a brand spanking new one! I totally just pictured you in the elevator wearing that shirt under your coat like a super hero, dork status is cool 😛 I love cappuccinos but if it’s just traditional coffee, I prefer it a darker tan color with not too much milk. One food I eat a lot of is Greek yogurt, we should invest stock in that stuff. And a random thought from my day: my roots are looking awful, need to go back to darker [cheaper] low-maintenance hair!

I know how you feel about your Mac. After only a year of having mine, I stupidly spilled an entire glass of water on mine and had to buy a whole new one. It was a sad day indeed. But worse things could be wrong in your life, right? 🙂 And I LOVE that coffee poster.

I love the eyeliner, I think all us girls do something similar. When we find a makeup product we really like, we stick with it until it’s nearly bit the dust. I think I’ve been using the same eyeliner for the past year – I can’t believe it’s still alive and going well!
I drink a small cup of coffee every morning, black. My freshman year of college I began drinking fancy coffee drinks – white chocolate mochas, caramel lattes, etc. (courtesy of my dining hall) until I realized how horrible they are for you. I weaned myself off the sugary drinks and now, I actually prefer it black! Although I must admit, I had to ‘temper’ my first few black cups of coffee with a maple donut on the side (this was before my ED started…those were the days!).
One thing I’ve got to have every day is…milk! My morning is incomplete without it. My mom’s the same way, we plow through a gallon of milk every few days. I was shocked when I learned most adults don’t drink milk by itself…my dad thinks it’s for little kids.

When I’m having normal coffee, I actually prefer it black, but when it comes to espresso drinks, I absolutely adore my capps. If you get them without any flavors added, they’re pretty healthy for you… ust coffee and milk 😀

#5 is too cute! I love my coffee with foam so I’m a big fan of lattes and cappuccinos.
Sorry about your macbook! 🙁 4 months is wayy too soon for it to even think about biting the dust. I hope you get it back soon!
Lastly, I think badasses may be a liitle bit overrated? Dorks have more fun 😉 Although the badass in that photo (#2) has a very cute jacket 🙂

That coffee picture is adorable! When I go to Starbucks, I usually order an Americano with some kind of flavor shot but at home I make brewed coffee with almond milk. I wish the ‘bucks would start offering almond milk as an alternative…I would definitely order a lot more lattes if they did!

I go through dried fruit like crazy, and it’s kind of a problem because I like it without anything added, and that kind of dried fruit is really expensive. But it’s just too good to stop!

I’m sorry your Mac decided to give up on you. Four months only? That’s even worse than my laptop battery having just died- it’s the second one already – after about a year.

There’s never too much Greek yogurt – I blame you for making me an addict, too, by showing all of those breakfast bowl pictures :). Mixed with coconut flour and maple syrup … mmmh!

Our eyeliners might be twins. Admittedly, though, my make-up bag is holding several of those little ones. I blame my father for passing his habit of using things until you can’t, well, use them anymore onto me :D.

Well, now go and have an affair, girl, won’t you ;)? Life is short, after all.

Sorry about your computer, that sucks. I’m still a PC, and we have our share of technical issues too. Luckily, my boyfriend is a techie guy, so I just give my stuff to him when I have a problem lol

Ha, it’s fine to be apart of dork-doms. For a while in high school I was a Phantom of the Opera ‘phanatic’ as they’re called. I was obsessed. Unhealthily. But it was still fun.

Hummus is my achilles heel when it comes to poor portion control. I don’t have any when it comes to that stuff. It tastes good on everything, so I put it on everything. I go through 2 tubs of it in one week. I know, crazy. And to my own embarrassment…peanut butter. I have to have crunchy peanut butter and banana on toast every.single.day. The combination is just heaven in my mouth. I’ll never get tired of it.

Because I definitely go through it just as fast. I mean…it’s organic? And…healthy…? And also expensive…so I guess that’s the caveat. Oh well, a gal’s got to have her vices.

I think that to myself every time I take my first sip. I like mine wit a splash of soy milk and cinnamon. I go through phases with temperature but right now, I’m all about coffee served hot…even though it’s pretty hot outside! Along with coffee, I go through A LOT of yogurt & applesauce at home….the word “staples” isn’t enough to cut it ;)!

Aww, this post is adorable – I’m glad you’re feeling a bit more chirpy today. Also, thanks for answering my questions on the last post – my Mum actually eats exactly the same way now that she has made a lot of progress with her anorexia. Like you, she is always going to be very slim, but her stomach literally can’t handle large volumes of food due to the damage done by over 40 years of an eating disorder. So I don’t see a problem with eating more small meals and snacks – it was only because it seemed to be really upsetting you that I had those queries.

You know, I actually feel somewhat ‘cooler’ now I’ve read this because we have quite a lot in common – I adore that t-shirt and it’s one of the few non-gym clothes/running clothes that I would feel comfortable wearing. I also squeed a little at that cute set of coffees, particularly the Irish one, which made my laugh a little 🙂

I can (Sadly) eat a LOT of everything, pretty much. However, I do have a fourth stomach for Kabocha squash – if I have a whole one, no matter what the size, I WILL eat the whole lot in one sitting. I think my record was a 2kg squash *eek*.
