Happy #thinkingoutloud Thursday! No idea what I’m going on about? Click here!

1. It was the mascara! So you know how last week I mentioned that some crazy rash decided to take up residence around my eyeballs? I had a feeling it was the mascaras that I was getting in my monthly Ipsy bags, so I stopped using those anddddd… the rash 100% cleared up. Freaking. Eh. I honestly can’t remember ever having a reaction like that to makeup, so this was a little out there… but I requested no more mascaras in my baggies and I’m back to using my tried-and-true drugstore staple with no problems. Love this stuff.

2. Oh, and I’m definitely not cancelling my Ipsy sub. In fact, I just got November’s baggie in the mail… and I’m kind of in love with it. Tarte blush, some kind of fancy lip balm, a liquid foundation, Oribe dry shampoo (really wanted to try this stuff), and…. dun, dun, dun… Benefit mascara. I didn’t get a chance to change my preferences before the baggies went out, but the good thing is that I’ve tried this mascara before with no issues. Hopefully it’s not something that’s just in the mini sample sizes.

3. Oh snap! It almost completely slipped my mind that today is American Thanksgiving. Happy Turkey Day, fam! I hope you guys are having an amazing day filled with lots of food, family, friends, and an abundance of things to be thankful for 🙂
4. Meanwhile, I’m over here like…

5. While also trying to find every holiday cup that I can get my hands on. Honestly? I didn’t even know that places like McDonald’s and Tim Hortons had holiday cups until I accidentally got one from McD’s on my last trip to the mountains. I take back what I said about McD’s reminding me of a warm sweater, though…. this one does that. I wonder if any of the small local shops jump on the holiday cup thing. Will test and report back.

6. Ending on an even number this week. You’re welcome 🙂 And I hope you’re having an awesome Thursday! (and Thanksgiving if that’s what you’re doing). Bye fam!

Mascara roulette is over; a rash-free week makes the tried-and-true tube the winner.
Ugh, that mascara reaction sounds so annoying, but I’m glad you figured out the culprit and the rash cleared up. I’ve had random skincare stuff do that too, and it’s always such a relief when it turns out to be one specific product instead of some mystery. Also, “mega man x regenesis” is the kind of random thing my brain would latch onto while waiting for my face to calm down.
Did stopping the Ipsy mascaras clear the rash immediately, or did it take a few days?
Wow, I’m so glad you figured out the rash was from the mascara — that kind of mystery irritation is the worst, especially so close to your eyes. It’s funny how something small in a monthly bag can turn into such a headache; reminds me of how I have to double-check even little things like mmol/l to mg/dl conversions when I’m trying to keep track of health stuff.
Taking a slow morning with coffee and reading this felt so nice. I’ve been spending my weekend tending to my blooming dendrobium nobile lately.
Ugh, allergic reactions to makeup are the absolute worst, especially right around the eyes! So glad you figured out it was the Ipsy mascara before trying anything too drastic.
Because your Thursday posts end with a small ritual like “Ending on an even number,” I have started treating my own daily puzzles as a repeatable break rather than something to rush through. When I get stuck on NYT Pips, I am still wary of checking a full solution too early, so Pips Hint gives me a gradual nudge while preserving the solving process.
This is such an insightful and well-articulated post! I really appreciate how you broke down this complex topic into practical, easy-to-digest points. It’s given me plenty to reflect on for my own projects. Thanks for sharing your expertise—definitely looking forward to your next piece!
That eye rash situation sounds so scary! I’m glad you figured out it was just the mascara and it cleared up. Subscription bags are fun, but beauty allergies are the worst.

Honestly, dodging all the daily tasks this week has felt like a total X Trench Run, so sitting down to read your friendly post was the perfect cozy break.
Mascara mishaps are the worst, glad you figured out what was causing it! These Thinking Out Loud posts are always such a fun peek into everyday life. Also, cozy weekend reading like this pairs perfectly with a good movie night.
So glad to hear you figured out the mascara situation and your rash cleared up! It’s always a relief when you find the culprit. Also, Happy American Thanksgiving!
Sometimes random thoughts turn into the most honest posts. I was reading something similar while browsing discussions around Sweep Stars Casino , and it reminded me how people just need spaces to relax and share what’s on their mind without overthinking it.
Absolutely loved this post! Your insights on leveling up in life are so relatable. I recently explored level devil for more tips, and it’s a game changer! Keep sharing the wisdom!
I really enjoyed this post! Your reflections remind me of the balance we must find in our lives, much like strategizing a slope run . Thank you for sharing such thoughtful insights!
Ipsy samples are hit or miss, but getting an Oribe dry shampoo is a solid win. Glad your eyes finally cleared up though, that sounds super annoying.
That Ipsy rash sounds awful, honestly. Good call on switching back to the drugstore stuff that actually works.
Happy Thanksgiving! It’s always interesting to discover what little things can cause such a reaction, like your mascara woes. Glad you found your tried-and-true solution!

Finding a good avocado can be so difficult. I actually haven’t bought them lately because I get so frustrated when I cut them open and they’re bad already.
One of the things I’m looking forward to about heading back to North America is finding good avocados. I gave up buying them entirely in Europe (after a few weeks of trying) because they’re SO BAD. Happy weekend!
I hate when otherwise awesome beauty products irritate my skin. There are some awesome drugstore mascaras, though! Totally agree that Maybelline has some amazing ones!
I never put liquid that close to my laptop! But now I’m going to be scoping out the coffee cups around here.
