. four foods i won’t eat… and other nonsense .

November 12, 2014 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 84 Comments

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Blends.are.lifesavers. I was having a hard time trying to decide what I wanted to post today, when Heather went ahead and helped me out by tagging me in a little 4 (x 13) question survey. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, and I’ve missed getting a little more personal on Spoons, soooo… here we go ๐Ÿ˜€

Four names that people call me, other than my real name:

  1. Spoons (thank you, blogging!)
  2. Sparrow (childhood nickname)
  3. Amy (Starbucks mishap that never got cleared up)
  4. A (inside joke… because I say “eh” a lot)

Four jobs Iโ€™ve had:

  1. Babysitter.
  2. Dog walker (my first shot at self-employment!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
  3. Body shop doer-everythinger (family business)
  4. Health coach.

Snatch

Four movies Iโ€™ve watched more than once (AND can quote):

  1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail. “Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!”
  2. Snatch. “You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.”
  3. Hot Fuzz. “Oh, you’re an agnostic, then? I think I’ve got a cream for that!”
  4. Dumb and Dumber. “I got robbed by a sweet old lady on a motorized cart. I didn’t even see it coming.”

Dratted Heavy Book

Four books Iโ€™d recommend:

  1. The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.
  2. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.
  3. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
  4. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas.

Four places I’ve lived:

  1. In my parents’ place.
  2. In my current place.

Yeah… I haven’t done a lot of moving around.

Flying Over Kauai22

Four places I’ve been:

  1. Disneyland. And then again because I kind of love it a lot.
  2. Hawaii. Once to Oahu, and again to Kauai.
  3. Vegas more times than I care to admit…
  4. Park City, UT for Blend 2014.

Four places I’d rather be right now:

  1. Snowboarding in the Alps.
  2. Sipping on an espresso in a cafe in Paris.
  3. Eating gelato while strolling through Venice.
  4. Behind the wheel of an exotic sports car.

Four things I don’t eat:

  1. Peanuts, obviously… I don’t have a death wish.
  2. Fish, seafood, and anything that even closely resembles it in taste/texture/smell.
  3. Liver and any sort of organ meat. No. Just no ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
  4. Overly hot/spicy foods. My tongue is a wimp. So is my stomach.

Chocolate Pudding Oats

Four of my favourite foods:

  1. Bananas.
  2. Almond butter.
  3. Oatmeal.
  4. Chocolate

As you can see, I have very grown up tastes ๐Ÿ˜‰

Watching Gossip Girl

Four TV shows that I watch:

Since I don’t really watch TV, I’ll just list off some of the older shows I love…

  1. Gossip Girl.
  2. Sex and the City.
  3. Seinfeld.
  4. Game of Thrones.

Christmas Decorations

Four things I’m looking forward to this year:

Soooo… there are less than two months left in the year, but…

  1. Christmas!! Even more so now that the snow has fallen.
  2. Snowboarding! Again… even more so now that the snow has fallen.
  3. Potentially going away for the holidays. Still in the planning stage!
  4. Being able to wear beanies. Goodbye bad hair days!

Four things I’m always saying:

  1. Eff.
  2. Awwwr!
  3. Right?!
  4. Definitely <– easily my most used word.

Four people I’m tagging in this survey:

  1. Arman.
  2. Meredith.
  3. Lucie.
  4. Jo.

Woohoo! See you guys tomorrow for a Thinking Our Loud trip recap! ๐Ÿ˜€

Signature

Your turn!! What are…
… a) Four things you don’t eat:
… b) Four jobs you’ve had:
… c) Four movies you can quote:

I don’t believe I can quote four movies… except I can problem quote four different things from Mean Girls… does that count?! Oh, and A Cinderella Story. I’m so grown up.

I don’t eat oysters/clams, mayonnaise, certain olives, or melted butter (I think the taste of melted butter is HORRIBLE, but I don’t mind butter in it’s normal form).

I have been a babysitter, janitor, PUMA sales associate, and hostess!

Love this! Don’t worry, your “lived” section is exactly like mine. I’m only 19, but still, I know people who have already lived in ten different states. Just think of all that miserable packing! I’d just carry all of my belongings in a backpack by that point.

    a) Four things you donโ€™t eat:
Because of my gallbladder and gastroparesis:
Gluten, dairy, eggs, red meat. Also, I refuse to eat green beans and coconut.
    b) Four jobs youโ€™ve had:
Shitton of volunteering and a cashier at a frozen yogurt bar.
    c) Four movies you can quote:
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (yes, I still love it. As with….
    The Princess Diaries
    School of Rock
and last but not least, the one we all can…. MEAN GIRLS.

Four things I donโ€™t eat: shellfish, cheese, mayo, cottage cheese – nuts too, but those aren’t so much by choice. I’d like to stay out of the hospital.
Four jobs youโ€™ve had: Delivered newspapers for 13 years (starting at age 7 – way to teach work ethic, mom and dad!), waitress (hated it), Fitness Center (where I met my husband, so can’t complain) and Human Resources (current)
Four movies you can quote: Serendipity, Prefontaine, Romeo & Juliet and Newsies (best Disney musical ever!)

    a) I don’t eat fried food, mushrooms, hard candies, and kale. I have yet to try kale, but something about its looks makes me cringe…
    b) I’ve worked in a department store, been a staff assistant for a Senator, a substitute teacher, and an office manager.
