introducing… sweet & savory saturdays!

January 9, 2016 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 51 Comments

Attention all food bloggers, foodies, and anyone who eats! So, basically, all of you ?

I’m super jazzed to be introducing you guys to the brand spanking new series that’ll be gracing the pages of Spoons every Saturday, staringgggg…. now. Well, technically starting next Saturday (the 16th), since today’s mostly a what’s what introductory class… but… you get the idea 😉

So without further ado… allow me to introduce your friendly faces to:

Sweet and Savory Saturdays

? ? ?

Who?

In theory? Sweet & Savory Saturdays is the love child of Arman and Spoons (hi!!). But in execution? It’s for everyone and anyone who loves good food! And linkups.

What?

Sweet and Savory Saturdays is a weekly recipe roundup that focuses on a specific ingredient or theme (i.e. chocolate, vegan, creative uses of nut butter, etc.), with a linkup where YOU can share your relevant recipes and drive more traffic to your blog.

Every Saturday, one of us will be posting a new recipe based on that week’s theme, while the other will be hosting the actual roundup/linkup. We want to create an awesome go-to resource for those searching for recipes with a specific ingredient or dietary style, as well as help spread the foodie love — which is why we’ll be sharing the recipes that link up across our social media platforms.

When?

Every Saturday starting at 6am EST.

Where?

You’ll find the linkup either here on Spoons or over on The Big Man’s World. Arman and I will be alternating hosting duties, so one week he’ll have the linkup and I’ll post the recipe; and the next week, I’ll have the linkup, and he’ll post the recipe. You’ll always know ahead of time where the linkup will be.

How?

It’s super easy to participate! All you need is a blog and a recipe (or two) that matches that week’s theme. We’ll be announcing the upcoming theme the week before, so you can either create a new recipe with that theme in mind (if you need ideas/inspiration), or go through your archives for relevant recipes that you’ve already made — you don’t need to link back or anything. Then, when the linkup goes live, just add your links and you’re good to go! Every week, we’ll be sharing the recipes across our social media platforms, as well as highlighting the 3 most popular recipes from the week before, so you can get an idea of what’s doing well, and what readers want to see.

Next week’s theme will be creative ways to use oats, and the linkup will be over on Arman’s blog. Hope to see you there!

I’m not a recipe poster but I enjoy reading and discovering new recipes to cook at home (as long as they are simple enough that I can do them LOL). Both you and Arman make great recipes so I’m excited to see what you come up with!

I love this! Having a recipe round up at the tip of my fingers for a specific ingredient! I’m excited to see what everyone bring to the table. Oats are a great place to start.
You should make a Pinterest board for this so all of them will be easily accessible.

That’s such a fabulous idea! Maybe just the inspiration for me to get back into the kitchen to create new recipes as I’ve been slacking on that front for quite a while. Or simply another great resource for delicious meals.
    Happy Saturday!

It’s nice to have a little bit of direction when you’re feeling kind of lost on the recipe front — totally been there.
