. 14 healthy smoothies guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth .

June 12, 2015 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 41 Comments

Okay. I’m super excited to share this post with you guys. Super excited.

If you’ve been reading Spoons for a while now, then you know I love my smoothies. And if you haven’t been reading Spoons for a while now, then I’m telling you — I love my smoothies. In the heat of summer; in the dead of winter. Once a day; twice a day; three times a day. If the craving strikes, it’ll be satisfied. And the craving does strike, friendly faces. Hard and often.

But smoothies are just so good! And I think the main reason why is because they satisfy both hunger and thirst simultaneously. And they’re sweet and creamy. And super satisfying. And packed with nutrition. Gah! The craving is striking, friends. Hard and… well… hard.

I can’t even tell you how difficult it was for me to put together this post without running to my blender multiple times. This here is a collection of some pretty epic (and healthy) smoothies that are guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth and keep you cool in the summer heat. There’s a nice mix of fruity, doughy, chocolatey, and protein-packed drinks in here, so there’s something for everyone. And me? I just want them ALL.

So do yourself a favour and check some (read: all) of these out! You need them in your summertime arsenal…

You know I had to copy this: Hard and often. #twss
    Sorry.

Well, I can hardly admit, that I am usually too lazy to dig out my blender and especially clean it after making the smoothie. Nonetheless, they ARE one of the best meals ever – Especially when they are thick enough to be eaten with a spoon. Banana/Chocolate/Avocado is definitely my fave – always with the addition of 2 handfuls oats.

Green smoothies are my fave…. I have a hard time branching out. I made an awful one the other day, way too icey… that’s what i get for not adding a banana or any fruit. I need to try some of these ones, especially the Salted Caramel Cashew Cacao Chunk Smoothie… so decadent looking!

Summahhh! I love thick, doughy, creamy smoothies. The best are overnight oat smoothies with chia seeds. When you blend them in the morning, they’re like thick clouds of deliciousness.

Smoothies are my breakfast go-to. I’m addicted, what can I say? But I won’t have one unless it needs a spoon! And I’m a big fruit lover with smoothies!

That happened to me once… so I put mixed baby greens in mine. It wasn’t horrible, but probably not something I’d repeat again πŸ˜†

YES to smoothies and YES to all of these recipes! I don’t discriminate when it comes to smoothies…it just needs to have some sort of nut butter involved and I am a happy lady. Thank you so much for putting this together! XOXO

I like chewing my food so when I drink smoothies I don’t put a whole lot of calories into it. I use my smoothies as a way to get in some greens (I put spinach or kale and some Vega protein green powder in there) and I drink it down right after a hard run so that it’s not a struggle. I think I’d love all of these smoothies as a dessert! Or maybe even with a little rum added in. Hehehe…

I have never been a smoothie drinker, something always just sort of bothered me about drinking anything thick, even a milkshake! But eating them with a spoon is a new idea that has some merit…methinks I’ll be trying it πŸ™‚
