thinking out loud #236

May 25, 2017 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 14 Comments

Happy #thinkingoutloud Thursday! No idea what I’m going on about? Click here!

Thinking-Out-Loud

1. So I’m not trying to throw shade at any Ducks fans or anything, butttttt….

Predators Win

I may or may not have been cheering for the Predators, and I may or may not be happy that they got the Ducks out of the playoffs. Not that I’m still bitter about the fact that they unfairly beat the Oilers or anything. It’s nothing like that at all. Now Ottawa just has to win tonight so they can beat the Predators in game 6 of the finals and bring the cup back to Canada. Yup. Calling it right now.

2. So I love books and will forever stand by my decision to avoid e-readers, but I do kind of question myself when I’m laying in bed at night struggling to keep a 1000 page book propped up. Is just kind of hard to relax and wind down for the night when your endorphins are pumping because you’re basically lifting heavy. Sorry. Bad jokes. But you get what I’m saying. It’s just that I spend so much time looking at screens, that I’d rather hold some paper for a while.

3. There are rare occasions where I get an inkling to do a What I Ate Wednesday post, but I get as far as breakfast and basically forget about the rest of the day. I kind of can’t believe that I basically did a WIAW post every.single.day when I first started blogging… these days I barely manage to plate my food half the time.

4. On that same note, I definitely don’t enjoy grocery shopping as much as I used to. There was a time where I could literally spend hours browsing aisles for new things and travelling to 3 or 4 different stores to get all the things I wanted, but these days I want to be in and out as fast as possible and if one store doesn’t have all I need, there’s a good chance that I’ll just make do without it. I still love food and love to eat, but I just don’t want to spend that much time thinking about it… ya know? I know Meredith feels the same kind of way.

5. Instead, I spend all my extra time browsing the internet for ridiculously cute things that I need in my life, like these adorable iPhone cases…

Monster iPhone Cases

6. Or doing copious amounts of quizzes, like this Disney one that I’m apparently super bad at. I ended up only getting 8 out of 18, which apparently means that it’s time to binge watch a bunch of Disney movies to refresh my memory. Seems legit.

7. And that’s it for me today. Happy Thursday, friendly faces! I hope you’re having an awesome one, and I hope to see you soon 🙂

I hate just leaving my house these days…period! It is just so exhausting for me to make an effort to even go to the store. I guess now that I am officially in the third trimester of my pregnancy all I want to do is rest and lounge.

I’m super curious what you’re reading that’s 1000 pages long. I’m thinking of trying The Lord of the Rings triology before too long.

As someone from Tennessee…. GO PREDS! My husband is from Nashville when we lived there we would go watch the Predators play. I’m so proud of my team 🙂 Also fun fact: My father-in-law is retired but works event/game security in Nashville. He works the tunnel where the guys come onto the ice. It’s fun to see him on TV.

Man I’ve so been struggling with the reading in bed at night thing. I’ve been loving reading real pages instead of from a computer but… I can’t figure out how to do it most comfortably!! Especially with a book that just will NOT stay open. I want to lye on my side with the covers up around me but then they cover the words and……. sigh.

I’m with you on real books AND grocery shopping. I used to enjoy it but now it feels like a chore. Kind of sad! I actually finally caved and got an e-reader…. thought I loved it for a hot minute… then decided I hated it and am now back to books. Now it’s antiquated and collecting dust in a drawer. lol!
I hated the screen time and was so annoyed that e-books cost as much as real books.

Grocery shopping is the worst! I’ve recently fallen in love with Aldi. They have one option for everything instead of 25 different brands to compare. It makes like so much easier.

I hear you about the book vs e-book dilemma. Of course, I totally fall asleep with my Kindle on my face sometimes!

Yes to having actual books. But I totally feel you with the struggle to keep them up. Or when I’m at the pool and it’s blocking my sun, lol.

this is why we are such good friends. not just about the hockey but because we still appreciate a regular book ( I can’t keep looking at screens!) and because we are tired of food and food shopping lol

As a Nashvillian I am ALL for the Preds in the playoffs. But I’m also just ready for it to be over…my husband’s playoff beard is starting to look ridiculous.
