i’m just a big wimp (ToL #219)

January 26, 2017 by Amanda @ .running with spoons. 31 Comments

Happy #thinkingoutloud Thursday! No idea what I’m going on about? Click here!

Thinking-Out-Loud

1. Have you seen this?!?!?!

The Ring 3

Like… why are they doing this to me?! I mean, I’m not sure if you guys know, but The Ring was the last horror movie I watched all the way back in 2002, and it messed with me so bad that I swore off horror movies for good right then and there. Call me a wuss all you like, but I couldn’t sleep for like 2 weeks straight after seeing the first one. And if that’s not bad enough, then you’ll get a kick out of knowing that even just seeing horror movie commercials freaks me out too. I know. I’m a chicken. I’m fine with it.

2. I’m also obsessed with my eyebrows, especially since I feel like I finally figured out how to do them just right in a reasonable amount of time (read: not 20+ minutes).

Those Brows Though

3. And if you’re wondering what my eyebrow secret is, that’d be the L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer. It’s pretty much an exact dupe for the one from Anastasia Beverly Hills, except that it’s only about 1/4 of the price. Sooooo… #winning.

4. Speaking of makeup, I totally forgot to show you guys what came in this month’s Ipsy* bag…

January Ipsy Bag

And, yes… I’m all sorts of obsessed with this subscription and don’t plan on stopping any time soon. It’s like a mini Christmas every month.

5. I’m also all sorts of obsessed with crunchy almond butter… which is weird considering I used to be all about the smooth stuff. The only thing is that it has to be super, super crunchy. Like… nut pieces stuck together with a little bit of nut butter. So VIQ – are you team smooth or crunchy?

Crunchy Almond Butter

6. To be perfectly honest, I’m team ketchup all the way. Like you guys don’t even understand the level of addiction I’m on over here – I choose my meals based on whether or not I can eat them with ketchup, and I probably go through a bottle every 1.5 weeks. Oops.

7. Aaaaaand I hope you guys have an awesome Thursday 😁

Potatoes go really well with ketchup.

Also I love horror movies, especially when I’m home alone. I like to scare myself silly for some sick reason.

I tried crunchy sunbutter for the first time a few years ago, and I loved the change in texture! That CRUNCH!

YOUR EYEBROWS are fantastic. I started doing mine about a month ago and still haven’t *quite* perfected them, but it’s getting better.
And a huge yes to ketchup. And crunchy nut butter. To be fair, I don’t discriminate when it comes to nut butter, but I still love the crunchy stuff 🙂

Team super-duper crunchy (as in, nut butter that’s basically nuts with a bit of butter in it). But team mustard ALL THE WAY. I put that stuff on everything.

Also, I hate scary movies. I even have to look away during TV commercials.

I’m actually Team Both!! My family loves smooth for the most part, so we always buy that, but back when I could eat standard nut butters, I used to love either! 😋 I’ve never watched a horror film, and I don’t plan to. I don’t like things that scare me, creep me out, give me nightmares or make me generally jumpy and afraid of life. Give me a cozy, relational movie or a kids’ film (generally I go for kids’ all the way…Big Hero 6 is my current all-time favorite movie!) any day of the week! I just honestly don’t understand how people can be so *into* horror (and I know quite a few!).

My sister and I have a YouTube channel and we so want to do some sort of crazy makeup video one time, because neither of us have ever worn makeup. Seeing all your makeup recs, Ipswich bags and hauls, etc. makes me really wished we lived nearby so we could come over and film a vid with you. (Is that over-the-top weird/fangirl?? Probably, but I don’t care! 😜)

I actually love horror movies! Every October, my husband and I have a month long horror movie marathon. We might actually see this new Ring movie in theaters.

Your eyebrows look fab!!! I hate how expensive almond butter has become. And why are the jars so small. My fav is the PC brand crunchy AB. So much yum.

I don’t really remember the Ring? The Exorcist messed me up big time but I still like horror movies!

Where did you find that amazing looking almond butter?!
I like both crunchy and smooth, it depends entirely on my mood. I also haaaaate horror movies, I refuse to see them.

No scary movies for me, I can’t handle them- especially after having my son/ hello crazy hormones. I prefer romantic comedies or classics. I’m such an old lady 😉

Your eyebrows are pretty! And I have to say that I’m just not a fan of any horror films or stories. So I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing to not like a horror film. Personally, I think they’re mostly just creepy, and I don’t really like creepy.

Girl, YES. The damn Ring stuff has been messing with me. I’m the same as you – last horror movie I’ve watched and it totally messed with me. I saw that it was coming out and freaked out to my boyfriend (he thankfully feels the same way about the movie so he didn’t think I was nuts). Did you see the “prank” that a tv store did? They put up tvs and people came in to buy them and one of the tvs they had the girl crawl out of it. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!

I don’t like the Loreal pencil, I find it really hard to work with. The NYX one however is softer and easier to use in my opinion.

Let’s not talk about how much of a wimp I am with scary movies. The last “scary” movie I saw was I Am Legend [which correct me if Im wrong, is actually not a “horror” movie] and I slept with a light on for THREE MONTHS. THREE!! Oh and btw I barely watched any of the dang movie. Most of it I watched with my hands over my face. I’m such a wimp with that stuff!

Eyebrows are on point- I’m jealous… I have non existent eyebrows and suck at filling them in. The Ring was actually one of my favorite scary movies… I used to be obsessed with the horror category but the older I get the less I wanted to be scared the hell out of!

Ketchup is my favorite. Normally I add pepper to it because I like spice, but lately I’ve been adding liquid smoke (it’s SO good). Also, I cannot handle scary movies. First one I saw was People Under the Stairs in fifth grade and it RUINED me.

I just saw the previews for the Ring and it sounds so scary. I was terrified of the first one and scary movies aren’t really my thing so I’m not sure I’ll be seeing it LOL.

I’ve been team crunchy for years but before that, I hated crunchy and only ate creamy. I use a dior eye brow thing – one side has the brush and one side has the fill in pencil, I actually need a new one! the pencil part is basically finished.
