. chocolate fondue .

by Amanda @ .running with spoons. on October 6, 2012

Hey guys! Happy Saturday!

I’m just popping in for a quick hello because I.am.beat. I thought that my usual weekend workout left me with a good sweat, but the one I did today just knocked me right out. Oh, and before you get too excited about the title of today’s post, let me forewarn you by saying that the chocolate fondue that I’m talking about isn’t exactly the kind you would want to eat…

When I moved in to my new place, there was one room that drove me absolutely insane…

I’m sorry, but I just can’t handle red walls; and the worst part about it was that it was the room that I spent the most amount of time in. I kind of got used to it eventually (mostly because I hate painting and just didn’t want to do it), but about a week ago I decided that enough was enough and went in search of some new paint. After going through countless swatches and engaging in endless back-and-forth debates with myself (seriously, there are way too many options out there) I finally settled on a color, and today it was time to get to work…

… and holy.wow was it ever work. When I first started painting, I figured that I’d be finished in no time at all, but it wasn’t long before I was eating my words big time. Between all the minor detailing and waiting for coats to dry, the whole day was gone before I even knew it and I still have a little bit of work left to do. Sigh. That being said, I should probably get back to it so that I can go ahead and pass out on the couch for the rest of the night.

Hope you guys are enjoying your evening , and I’ll see you again tomorrow!

. – . – . – .

What color are the walls in your room?
Any exciting plans for this weekend?

Oh well, I think we disagree on wall colours – I love the red wall in my kitchen :D. It makes it such a lot cozier especially in the colder and darker months. But to each their own., huh?

My room is painted a bright yellow which I find refreshing and a mood booster. Sunshine all the way even if the sun isn’t shining!

I’ve seen some nice red kitchens, but the red just wasn’t working for me as an office color… it didn’t really go with the color of the carpet or the built in desk/wall unit thing. And I love it when you have a wall color that just makes you feel good 😀

I’m with ya! Not a big fan of red walls either. I like red appliances in the kitchen but my walls all have to be neutral or nearly neutral!

How fun! I love redecorating my house! Red walls is not my cup of tea either! Good luck finishing – can’t wait to see the final results!

Ooh! Can you do a house tour after you finish decorating? :)

I will for sure!

Gotta burn those calories while sitting! 😀 And I actually like red walls :\ but I can see that they may not be so great for a small space like that — kind of suffocating actually! I’m sure the brown will look great!

I actually sit on the stability ball to help with my posture because I’m a horrible sloucher when I sit in chairs for too long.

meh, I like red walls but maybe those are a bit too bright? I don’t know, I like like deeper reds, I think. Although I do love the new color!

oh I hate painting. I think I may be one of the worst painters as well. I alway manage to leave streaks somehow. I can’t wait to see the finished product :)

I painted my walls light blue in high school, and remember feeling like I’d been hit by a brick afterwards. It truly is a total body workout! 😉 The “chocolate fondue” color you chose looks gorgeous; I can’t wait to see pictures!

My walls are currently a light beige, although not by choice. I live in a leased house, and the owners won’t let us touch a can of paint!

i’m loving the name of that paint! def sounds good enough to eat 😛 can’t wait to see the new choclified walls!

I’m excited to see the after pic! My entire house is light greige except for my bedroom – it’s mint! 😀

Glad you are getting rid of the red walls! We went for a lazy approach in our flat – white everywhere!

I can’t lie..I actually love those red walls..BUTTT I am sure the chocolate ones will look just as good if not better. Whatever you love is what I love. My walls are a boring dingy white..but I still live in the room I have lived in for years so when I finally fly away from my nest of home, I will have awesome walls YAHOO!

I don’t blame you – as much as I love red, I’d feel anxiety attacks coming on if I was in a red room, haha. My room is painted “buttercream” (a VERY pale yellow – basically, off-white).

No exciting plans this weekend. Just had dance practice, pilates (both the usuals) and lots of studying for midterms.

Happy Sunday!

I like the red but I think staring at them all the time would give me a headache. I bet the brown will make it more casual and nice!

19 Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin October 8, 2012 at 5:40 am

I actually really like red wells! But I like brown too. 😉

Mine are white. I’m just renting an apartment for 2 years, so I don’t really want to paint them because I’d just have to paint them white again before I move out. 😛 If I could, I would paint them mustard yellow, light green, or a really pale salmon colour.

“…but it wasn’t long before I was eating my words big time.” <- Couldn't help but giggle at this with the title of the post! haha!

All the walls in my house are still the boring almond color they were when I first moved in. I am the WORST at making decisions…especially the ones involving something somewhat permanent! I mean, I know I could always paint over the color, but I would kick myself if I worked ALL day on a paint job, just to end up having to redo it later! :-/

Argh tell me about it. This was actually my second time painting the room because the first color I picked just didn’t sit well with me. Thankfully I only ended up painting one wall, but it was still annoying to have to do it all again…
